How long until my dog is fully trained?
For starters, training becomes a lifelong habit for both owners and dogs, but obedience and advancemnet is determined by the dogs specific persoanlity and temperament, as well as the owner's consistency in training. The average time to develop a well rounded, well mannered dog is typically 2-3 years with consistent structure and training.
Why do you require so many vaccines?
Our vaccines are required to prevent as many possible illnesses from spreading between dogs or humans. We routinely have young unvaccinated puppies in our programs and while we disinfect the training room before classes, healthy and vaccinated dogs help to limit the possible exposure.
Am I 100% guranteed results in the Board & Train program?
No program is guranteed 100% results due to a variety of factors that can include the dogs temperament and personality as well as the owner's consistency in their structure and routine at home. For clients who take the program seriously and follow up in our free private sessions and group classes after the program see huge success cimpared to clients who do not stick with the strcuture and training.
What happens if a dog brings in an illness like Bordetella?
Although we require all adult dogs to be vaccinated, vaccinations don't automatically make a dog fully immune to an illness. If a dog brings in an illness to any program, all dogs are sent home immediately and an email is sent out to every client currently attending a program to inform them of the incident as well as symptoms to watch for. The sick dog cannot return until they have been symtpom free for 2 weeks. The entire facility gets disinfected and dogs under 6 months are not allowed to attend any programs for a minimum of 2 weeks since the exposure started. If more clients reach out stating their dog has developed symptoms, that two week exposure stay home restarts.
Can my intact dog attend your programs?
Absolutely! We are big advocates for keeping your pets intact as long as possible with responsability in mind. Intact dogs are not barred from any program we offer.
